I tell clients all the time the photos I take in camera are only 1/3 of the process of creating their images. They never look the same after I am done. It's one of the reasons I do not give unedited photos. Not only does an unedited photo represent me poorly but it also does a disservice I believe to the client. It is not an all the way complete portrait. One third of my process is the information from the photoshoot design consultation I get from the clients. The next third is us actually capturing the portraits. The last part of the process is the editing portion. I was in communication with the mother of this little girl in this portrait prior to the shoot going back and forth on different inspiration work she wanted to use for her daughters photographs. Though I do not copy work exactly as I have my own style, sometimes a photo has many inspiration ideas pulled from a wide variety of images. Moms inspiration photo for her daughter was individual portrait outdoors with a very full dress. And I was going to make that happen!
Capturing the image at times requires a team. We chose Woodward Park in Fresno to be our site location. I had an assistant work with strobe lighting for this photo while I was photographing from across the way. This is a behind the scene glimpse. You can see even the family sometimes helps to capture the right image.
This is the image that was taken from our session straight out of camera.
Now for the editing portion. Here is the end result. Though the image was perfect by itself out of camera the image is enhanced during the editing process.
Editing is included in all the photographs created by Angelina Jones Photography. If you are looking to document a special event in your life lets make it happen. feel free to reach out for a photoshoot design consultation for an ultimate portrait experience.
